I am happy with my bo and pleased that it was shipped in a cardboard tube. I previously received one from another company wrapped in heavy paper. It is not practical to return any thing because of my location. The bo itself while fully functional I would classify as a second as there was a slight bend and a small knot hole that appeared to have been filled. Both problems are very slight and wouldn’t prevent me from ordering another. This is a good stout stick that should give good service. It also seems to handle better at that length. I sanded it, finishing with 1500 paper. After a few daily coats of mineral oil I changed today to teak oil and will alternate between the two until the oil has sufficiently soaked in. This gives the wood a much better feel.

I bought 2 of these for real-world use. I have arthritis in my knees with bone-on-bone contact and sometimes need help walking. A cane would do for that, but a cane is absolutely worthless when trying to rise from a chair. Most of them nowadays aren't constructed for emergency use as a weapon, either.
These red oak staves are heavy and very well made. I'm aware of red oak's limitations; I'd rather have ash, hickory, or white oak (in that order), but I believe these will get the job done. Both are straight, cylindrical, and knot-free.
I got a wax wood bo to use for practice, since it won't crack or shatter should I miss a strike and hit something hard. I got a burned rattan bo for my aging father-in-law. I reviewed them as well.

This is pretty much what I was looking for. It's smooth and straight and has some weight to it, which is good since I want to work on strength and speed and dexterity. I let a couple of my bo enthusiast friends play with it and they both really liked it.

The bo staff itself its really good, very heavy and good length, very durable or so it seems in general a very good weapon for building speed and muscles. My only complain and the reason why I didn't give it the 5 stars is that my order was one week late of the time so I was very disappointed by that fact.

For a standard staff, I was impressed for the price. It seems a bit heavy, but for non-tapered hardwood staff you can not beat it. Just the right amount of flex throughout.

This bo is exactly as advertised. Not too heavy, not too light. Handles well for a beginner like me and appears as though it should last a good long time. Good value for the money, too.
