The Kai (or Eiku) Bo is a traditional implement as developed by the Okinawans. An important part of the kobudo arsenal, Kai training is preserved today by certain Okinawan karate/kobudo lineages.
This red oak weapon is well balanced and designed to simulate the original oar model. The handle is a smooth cylinder, and the flat oar portion can gather destructive momentum when used properly.
Well made, good looking Eiku. The problem I had with it was it is pine stained with red oak stain. It is not oak. Returning it was easy.
Does this have the angled tip or a thick, blunt tip?
The top comes to an angled tip, although I wouldn't categorize it as "sharp".
