It does not say on the web site but after talking to Martial arts Supplies I ordered 4 pairs of them since I was told they were Stainless Steel. After receiving them I liked the weight and look but they were a little large for me. So I had a pair fixed by a wielder and he showed me that they are Chrome and not Stainless Steel.

These are so-so sai -- OK for training but not great. My main complaint is that what I got does not look like the picture displayed on this site. While the picture shows nice rounded yoku (the prongs on each side), the sai I received have yoku that are essentially square with rounded corners and flared points. Also, the point where the yoku join the shaft is somewhat flat, whereas a little more bulge is better. Lastly, they are not exactly shiny chrome. The finish is more matte, like polished steel.

These sais are a great size and weight distribution. They are easy to hold, easy to switch grips, and incredibly durable. I recommend putting a little bit of electrical tape around the top of the grip to secure it, but otherwise no complaints.
