This shoe features a long upper section that adds to the overall support of the shoe. The sole is made with textured rubber that protects your feet from the elements and reduces sound generated by walking. The sole also features the tradtional 'split-toe' design. The Ninja Long Tabi Boots feature reinforced stitching at the sole and the seams.
Are the closures actual tabs or is what I'm seeing a velcro strip, because if it's a velcro strip I wouldn't wear them if you gave them to me. Velcro should Never be used as it defeats the functional extension of the Tabi's overall purpose. Never have I seen a Bujinkan practitioner employ (or at least admit) using velcro.
Hi William. These are Velcro. The manufacturer was thinking more ease-of-use and size accommodation rather than sneaky silence. If you're looking for something more authentic, try here: http://www.ninjatabi.com/.
If it wasn't for the split toe, I wouldn't be able to tell that I was wearing these boots. And the only reason I feel the split toe, is because one of my big toes is a bit swollen. These things are comfortable, lightweight is an understatement, and you can stuff these things almost anywhere (proof is in the packaging, since they pack it so small). Not only is the product awesome, but I ordered and received my product within 4 days. Most companies I order from, would still be "processing". Oh, and last but not least, if you are looking for cheaper tabi boots, you won't find them. These are the cheapest. The closest I have found to these were about $5 more. Thanks Martial Arts Supplies. You gave me boots that I have wanted since middle school. :D
